Perfect replacement for a dead HID ballast for Golf GTI Mk5. Water from the headlight unit got into the old ballast and fried it. I installed this on a 2004 330 ci to replace the original which due to insulation on the three small wires feeding the low beam bulb and the brown ground wires, failed. ruptured and parts of it broke off, causing a short circuit on those four wires. Before installing, I wrapped the wires in black electrical tape to prevent re-shorting.
