This converter is a switching power supply instead of a transformer. It would not even be able to power an electric heating pad that is much less than the rated current. Very disappointing when you are in a foreign country.

The soft case is half the size of what came with my device, but it has everything you need, including extra converter plugs for those items that don't need voltage conversion require, and USB cables for my electronics AND an optional USB charger. The hard case offers more protection in my luggage and takes up less space.
