Good for the price: education and training

I have Insect Lore and now RestCloud products. The Insect Lore is more durable and its side door is larger, but for the price, the RestCloud does the job well. I didn't need a lifetime living space and wanted to save some money. Finding a separate habitat was easier than buying a kit through InsectLore. I highly recommend the Insect Lore kit if you are a butterfly farmer.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Crumpled

Good product! in Habitats

The purpose of this is to observe the life cycle of the monarch butterfly and then release it. The product is easy to use and comes with excellent instructions. My children are very happy that the snow has melted and we can find milkweed. The product looks very durable, the test is passed with repeated use. The best thing is that it is completely closed and has no open sides. The bottom of the model we bought has a zippered door.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Several generations of monarchs this season

We breed milkweed every season, but unfortunately birds or lizards often reach our caterpillars before they reach the pupa. We finally found this low-cost alternative and successfully ran multiple Monarch payout rounds. Great product for all ages, even my husband was excited to watch the process. The bag is a nice compact size, light weight but has a fairly strong zipper. I would have liked the hand hole to be a little larger for daily cleaning, but it is fully functional.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast

Great habitat for insects!

This is the perfect little habitat for caterpillars to set up tents and build their cocoons, and for your little naturalists to spot butterflies, other insects or reptiles. This will help them keep a respectful distance from their passing pets. I buy them for my grandchildren every summer so they can watch the monarch caterpillars I collect turn into butterflies and then release them into the wild. This is a very educational project. and should last for several months if handled with care. Ours

Extremely poorly made habitat!

I've been raising monarchs for over 2 years and once had too many of them for the only 2 habitats I had so I had these and thought the access below would be convenient. Have I ever been wrong! I hate almost everything in these habitats! They are casually spotted together on the ground where there is excess plastic, where cat poop gets in and is difficult to get out. It zips up at the top and the cats actually rotate right into the center of the zip! I prefer Butterfly Habitats from Backyard…

  • Lots of positive vibes

  • Not trendy

nice but. good for study and learning

bought this for my nephews in 2019. pleased with the size and easy access. The biggest problem is that the web is so tightly woven (good for holding tiny caterpillars) that it is very difficult to see the process. I have an entomology habitat and I may be spoiled because I can easily see it through the mesh and clear plastic top. I will be reordering the insect knowledge version now as I have so many holes from years of use. The mesh wears out over time and we had a few sprouts even after the…

Excellent cage for praying mantis, butterflies and other insects.

This cage is EXCEPTIONALLY well made and perfect for Praying Mantises, Butterflies, Stick Insects etc. The extra zipper at the bottom is its best feature. You can remove bug droppings or put food inside without disturbing the insect. And unlike cheaper cages, this one doesn't have a 'hidden' hole at the end of the zipper that you can't see but you can put your finger through. This hidden hole in the competitor's cages allows the feeding insects (fruit flies, houseflies, crickets, and roaches)…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Minor issues
