Enhance Communication with Retevis Walkie Talkies: Rechargeable Channel Review

Buying this as my 6 year old boy's first walkie talkie, he talks over and over again wherever he is in the house. even asked a question during homework. Which is very helpful because I cook downstairs and he cooks upstairs? his studies and I can ask him for updates and check on him without having to go to his room every time I cook

Be sure to check the battery connections. Walkie-talkies are good and a lot of fun. But mine came with a bad battery. The positive contact does not protrude far enough to make contact on any device. We can still use them with regular AAs, but we liked the rechargeable battery. This is the only thing preventing them from getting a higher ranking. You can see that in the first two photos the positive contact is recessed and in the third photo the negative contact is protruding enough.

Three weeks after receiving this set one of the radios got stuck in VOX or talk mode. None of the buttons seem to work in this setup, including the steps to change the setup. The device won't turn off no matter how long I hold the power button. Pressing the power and menu buttons at the same time does nothing. I removed it to save battery. Walkie Talkies work very well. I've had a non-rechargeable pair for a while and they are fantastic! They have a decent range and plenty of channels. Battery life is many days without the need for replacement. The only downside to this is that the talk button on the side is very sensitive and if you have it in your pocket you will end up accidentally pressing it many times. I do NOT recommend this product. At first I thought I got the wrong product. I've bought walkie-talkies with rechargeable lithium batteries. Batteries were included, but the battery compartment was designed for 3 AA batteries. Also when I went online, looked at what I bought, I found that they really do look like they should.
