On the first night of class I grabbed a practice pattern not realizing how hot it was. The gloves saved my hand. If I had been wearing gloves provided by the school, that would have meant at least a few blisters. Agility is good for stick welding, but not very good for MIG. I have only ever welded MIG and had no idea how hot the process is. I will continue to use my old flash gloves but these are my new stick welding gloves. I've only been using these for a few weeks but I can already say they're a lot more durable than the ones I bought for my welding class last semester. So far I would definitely buy them again. The glove is nothing more than a very thick skin. The only padding is on the back of the hand where it is needed most. Right now I definitely plan on buying another pair of these (compared to the Miller brand) once my current pair wears out. So I definitely recommend them. Although I will update thisβ¦
I bought these on the recommendation of my welding instructor. Initially, I started with expensive gloves that I bought at a large hardware store nearby. This was my first beginner welding lesson and it was pure pole welding. A very important piece of advice that I did not understand is that when welding with an electrode, you need gloves with threads that are not visible.
