Great kit not just for beginners

Just ordered a 3rd kit - myself, my son (USMA West Point Cadet) and my friend's daughter, 3 different generations, 3 different experience levels with embedded systems. Cables (Raspberry Pi connector) and a breadboard T-splitter, and the rest of the kit can be used in development and prototyping of any microcontroller based system. Large variety of sensors and devices, few passive components. Collecting them one by one can cost you almost double if not more. In addition, you get a pretty handy…

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Upgrade available

Documentation updates and corrections, but useful for beginners

I have a little doubt about the documentation. If you have a Pi 4 you will need to download the latest stable library to compile C. Or none of the C codes will work with the Pi 4. Also the instructions for the 4 digit display show a 17 pin 4 digit display but you get 12 digits. You can understand that, but these and a few other omissions and typos can present a serious handicap for beginners. However, this is a really good kit with pretty good instructions and code. Oh, and forget the noobs. no

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel

There are so many cool things to try!

I just got my Raspberry Pi and am very happy to have found this kit. I'm very excited to try different components and see what designs I can come up with. I'm new to this stuff but it seems like a good starting point for learning how different electronics work and interact. Then when I get a little more experience I'll know how best to spend my money and be at least a little familiar with what I'm looking for. The packaging was great too, everything fit neatly in a plastic box.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

Large Electronics Kit

This is a great kit for those looking to get into electronics with their Raspberry Pi. Someone totally new to electronics and programming will likely need a bit of work, so be motivated to google if you're confused/baffled. Perspectively, this review is from someone who has electronics and programming experience but has never used a Raspberry Pi before. the Pi itself, a USB power cable for it (Micro or USB-C, depending on the model), a micro SD card for the Pi, and a micro HDMI cable (unless…

Amazingly comprehensive overall package - great!

I bought this to teach myself a little programming and to use as a home monitor. Although it's from China, I have to say that the documentation is very impressive. If you know nothing about Raspberry Pi or programming but are interested in learning, this is an AWESOME pack. Often the documentation for such technical things is VERY poor and almost incomprehensible, but this is definitely NOT the case. It covers everything from installing the Raspberry Pi OS to connecting the breadboard, working…

Best value for money

If you want to learn how to control different devices with your Raspberry Pi, this kit offers the best value for money. You can run 31 experiments right out of the box by following the instructions on the included CD. And you can do countless experiments with your creativity. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the kit, the different components and the documentation with all the experimental details and complete C and Python programs. The only problem I had was with a specific LCD…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Negative impression

Everything you need to connect your Raspberry Pi to the real world.

I was looking for a way to experiment with connecting my Raspberry Pi to other hardware and the physical world in general. This kit looked like it had all the necessary parts plus lots of extras. The price was right. It would have cost me at least twice as much to get parts and pieces individually, not to mention the time it would take. Not only did I get a lot of hardware in one package, but the included optical disc has tons of datasheets and example projects with C and Python code. If you…

  • Quality construction

ATTENTION! Documentation/Instructions

Comes with a CD but you can download the same from their webpage. * This is good as my laptop does not have a CD player. What now after the download? * No clear starting point. After a while I managed to stumble across several PDF files. And this is where the "fun" begins. The "User's Guide" in PDF format, if you want to call it that, begins with extremely simplified information. Think "this is going to be easy” until you get to page 3 or 4. That's where the learning curve (gentle slope) turns…
