This is an excellent steamer capable of making one serving of food or at least two average servings. I like that all vapers can be programmed to turn off at the same time. The food is cooked to the same excellent quality as the Black and Decker steamers I have been using for seventeen years. There are some parts to clean, but that's the price of three vapers in one. I purchased this item after a refurbishment ahead of the holidays. Used several times a week since unpacking. The steam cooking time is perfect, the machine controls the start time of each chamber so that all chambers are ready at the same time and the food is delivered to the table without waiting. Great product. I gave mine away and had to buy a new one. Three compartments for steaming - everything is ready at once, and different compartments do not contaminate each other (as happens with stacked bamboo models). It's also dishwasher safe, which I'd recommend as there are plenty of washable parts that fill the entire top shelf of the dishwasher: 3 bins, 3 lids, a tray for holders and 3 plastic rings - a bit much to hand wash, but not impossible. I bought a Richard Simons EST7 Steam-Heat Electronic last year and I love it. I ended up buying 3 more as gifts for my family. I had no problems until I accidentally checked what plastic the trays are made of. To my surprise it was number 7, the worst plastic ever. Food is placed directly on these steamer plates.
