Three out of 25 stands out

I've been buying Optical Quantum (OQ) discs for about a year and have hardly ever burned coasters. But the price of them has increased, so I decided to try other brands. It seemed fine; They definitely weren't as fast as OQ discs, which are often recorded at 7.1x. And I had three coasters for 25 discs, which is unacceptable. I won't buy them again.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Little repairability

Sturdy and reliable - no stands in the stack

I find these BD-R DLs to be very reliable. It's too early to speak of durability, but I can say I've never owned any of the coasters I've used. I prefer 50GB drives for most applications - they're big enough to hold a decent amount of data, yet very reasonably priced. I have used 100GB drives but they are expensive and not that reliable at the moment. My recommendation is to stick with these 50GB drives for now.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • faulty

High failure rate with Samsung Blu-Ray Burner

I blew through a stack of 50GB Plextor drives and the failure rate was about 66%. So I bought 25 of them. The first 2 of the stack failed. Switched to 25GB drives and no crashes. I don't know if that's my burner or not. But with macOS, Linux and Win10 I get the same result on 50GB drives. The Mac gives me the most helpful information by stating that the drive is unreliable. If you really need 50GB drives, please. However, you can use 25GB drives instead. These things are expensive!

Pros
  • High speed - up to 6x faster writing speed.
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Good discs

I use them to back up my 1080p BD collection and have never had a problem with a single disc. I have stopped at two because of an operator error. It should be noted that I do not burn EVERY disc, whether DVD or BD, at the maximum rated speed. They are rated for 6x piercing and the three I have tried have NOT failed but I have had issues in the past with another brand that had issues with the maximum rated speed during shift transitions. I burn them 4 times and of course it takes a little longer

Pros
  • Large capacity - 50GB storage, more than 10 times more than a standard DVD
Cons
  • Disappear

Decent media indeed.

So I bought two of these spindles for 25 50GB discs. I've burned through the first spindle so far and started on the second. The very first disc gave me a sensitive key error and didn't complete the write process. I haven't had it since the DVD. But all other discs record normally and play/load normally in the BD player. I've found that Plex drives don't work. I don't know all of the discs from this manufacturer, whoever made them, but they were ALL bad and my BD player wouldn't play them…

Pros
  • High Definition - 3D/HD Movies, Music, Games and PC
Cons
  • Boring Pack
