Description of π§ Ridgid Compact Cordless Lithium-Ion Driver
You can adjust the 24 position clutch to drive between 0 and 535 inch pounds of torque, letting you work on softwoods, hardwoods, and even some metals. LED lighting keeps your job illuminated whenever you pull the trigger. If you donβt want to run the drill but still want to shine on your work, a separate trigger lets you activate the light by itself. The keyless chuck on the R86008 enables you to make swift bit changes while keeping them locked in for high torque applications. Bare Tool, Battery and charger sold separately. This item is removed from retail packaging for shipping purposes (Bulk Packaged, No Retail Packaging) and will arrive in a generic shipping box or bag.
I love Ridgid tools and have several of these drills. This one works fine; but I like the light. But the chuck cannot clamp the round drill or screwdriver bit. I had to use pliers to get it tight enough so the bit wouldn't slip out. I suspect that's probably bad for the patron. Btw I bought two (2) of these and both have the same problem
I have some 18v batteries for my Reno home project so I bought a drill (only wanted a drill as I already have batteries). I like the ratcheting mechanism. So far it's reliable, although others say their attempts have failed. I drill wood, concrete and metal with this bit and it does it all. The small LED on the front is also useful in the dark. For $50, I'm happy with this solid little workhorse.
This was my third hard drill. The first was a kit containing this variable speed drill, batteries/charger and impact drill. The drill's ratchet chuck failed and I couldn't turn it to loosen the drill. I bought this "drill only" replacement and after only a year of light home use it failed like the first one. This purchase will be my second "drill only" purchase. I'd like a tool that lasts a long time, but I've even tried Dewalt and it failed the same way.
