Nice item only one section fits my 4 gallon 5hp ridgid.

Good adapter but the red lever section is not needed, the red lever section is a larger diameter tube and will not fit my Ridgid 5 HP 4 gallon model. All the black part fits perfectly.

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Annoys

No more dust and dirt Exhaust

This is almost a must if you plan on using a workshop vacuum cleaner on a regular basis. I learned this the hard way after vacuuming a demo bathroom with a lot of dust. Without a silencer, the fine dust I sucked in was expelled through the open opening of my vacuum cleaner. With this nozzle, the vacuum cleaner is less prone to dust emissions and, in my case, runs more quietly.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Some problems

Works well and fits perfectly!

Seems to work well as intended. Perfect fit for my DIY vacuum cleaner, spreads airflow 360° instead of straight and reduces noise from about 94dB to 91dB. I haven't tested it in use, but hopefully it will filter out any smaller dust particles that get through the main filter. If not, try putting some oil in this filter to catch smaller particles. Goodbye!

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • Easily repairable

Absolute silence until suction starts

My workshop vacuum cleaner is now a little quieter. It's not amazing noise-cancelling tech, but it helps a bit. My favorite quality is that I no longer have junk in the garage while vacuuming. There's probably a DIY alternative that will save you a few bucks, but since you're reading a review of a vacuum muffler here, I think DIY might not really be your thing.

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Only available in white

This is the best thing that happened to my Ridgid! The noise used to be so loud that even earplugs with headphone protection didn't help, but now the noise has reduced very significantly and I only wear earplugs and feel very comfortable. The silencer attachment does not reduce the efficiency or the suction power of my Ridgid vacuum cleaner in the slightest.

Pros
  • Trial for a year
Cons
  • Nothing

No muffler in vacuum cleaners and floor washers

This diffuses the air coming out of my Ridgid vacuum which doesn't really affect the vacuum's performance but keeps air from getting in my face when I'm sometimes lean next to him. It doesn't act as a silencer to reduce vacuum noise, which is disappointing as it's called a silencer/diffuser. I find it strange that so many people give this thing 5 stars, noting in their review that it doesn't reduce the noise of the vacuum cleaner. I should have read all the reviews and not just looked at the…

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Negative present

As often mentioned this is more of a diffuser than a silencer

As often mentioned, it's more of a diffuser than a silencer - there is some noise reduction, but not the amount you'd expect from a device with the Silencer moniker. My Rigid Shop vacuum requires an adapter that leaves the entire unit a bit long and protruding which can cause the power cord to get caught when rotating. Additionally, at a low cost, it reduces vacuum noise enough that I leave it plugged in.

Pros
  • EASY INSTALLATION: All you have to do is connect the accessory to the adapter and plug the adapter into your Ridgid socket of choice and this tool will do the rest
Cons
  • not reliable

Not the best silencer in vacuum cleaners and floor machines

Pros
  • VACUUM NOISE REDUCTION: Connect it to the air intake of your Ridgid vacuum cleaner and you'll feel more comfortable at work because the noise will be reduced
