Inconsistent shape.

I am a Reidel supporter but was a bit disappointed to find that shape 1 of my 4 glasses is not compatible (rightmost lens in both photos). It does not have such a pronounced broad tip as the other three tulip glasses. At over $15 a glass, I was expecting a little more quality control.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Small things

Hand wash for best durability

Nice glass, but be careful - to claim it's dishwasher safe is an exaggeration. If you do not use soft water rinse aid, you will have irreversible stains on the glass even after several washes. We have a water softener but the dishwasher ran out of rinse aid and I didn't notice. Now I can't wipe water or soap off the glass.

Pros
  • Hard-wearing finish
Cons
  • No insurance

Beautifully made, larger than expected

Purchased for the family's Cabernet lover. Beautiful shape, weight, transparency and thickness are very thin. I was surprised at how big they are, but go figure that helps with the taste. The gift seems to be very successful and the packaging makes opening a really cool experience. Super easy to take out of the box - awesome.

Pros
  • Sequins
Cons
  • Rosette required

Extremely sensitive to glasses and drinking utensils

If Extreme in the name means they're very fragile, then they're right. One broke while drying with a towel. Another broke tonight when my wife hit it with a plate. They are very delicate and should not be bought for everyday use. Otherwise we love glasses. Update: I broke my glasses tonight while sitting on the couch. 1 left. That's ridiculous. I don't recommend it at all.

Riedel. Enough said.

Worth every penny. You must buy these glasses if you like wine, just read the review or product description. Says something like you should buy a glass of wine that matches the cost of the wine you would normally buy. mostly if you like expensive wine or love wine and most importantly buy an expensive bottle. Buy a glass that only enriches the taste! Riedel was and remains the only one for me.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not the best

Cheap production, special shape

At $20 a glass these glasses should be a lot better. The bowl, stem and base are machined separately and then fused together. The result is clumsy and unattractive. Then there is the problem of the inconsistency of one glass with another. Especially the different shell shapes. The glasses are cheaply made and look neat. I think Riedel's reputation is nothing but hype. If they are willing to put their name on such a bad product and charge so much for it, that tells you all you need to know about

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive

below expectations - kitchen and dining room

I usually drink rose from Provence, France. After drinking a little in this glass, the wine didn't impress me. I poured some into a Riedel Chardonnay glass and the wine was more aromatic and round than the rose glass. I have a lot of Riedel glasses and this is the first thing that disappointed me. I also felt that the legs were too long, but that might be personal preference. PS: I've noticed the people who scoff at the idea of different glasses for different wines have never actually compared…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak

Good shape, bad quality.

Riedel describe themselves as a REAL wine glass maker and they have done a good job with this glass shape. Like the tulip, it really helps with rosé champagne. The finish and quality leaves a lot to be desired and this is disappointing as every time I drink one of these glasses I lose what I can get from the enjoyment of their shape to the constant reminder of that ubiquitous cheap backbone . . in the stem, typical of poorly finished glasses where the manufacturer has cut corners and even…

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Damaged
