The timer did not work properly when installed. After carefully inspecting the wiring and comparing it to the product photos, I found that the black and red wires were connected to the connector as intended by the manufacturer. I was able to switch wires and the timer worked. The manufacturer must check their quality. It's a shame about such a simple thing.

Very easy to install after some research. The chart provided is confusing. The easiest way to connect is the red one coming from the circuit breaker. Black for ground, green for pump. To connect the manual switch, simply run a wire from the pin on the side of the manual controller to the green wire. This allows you to bypass the timer when switching to manual mode. It was only installed for a short time. If I don't update it, it still works.
