I've tried this style of lipstick before with no success. They usually feel very dry, you end up using the entire top gloss at once and it still feels rough and flaky. That's not the case! Before applying, first make sure your lips are fresh, clean and dry with no other moisturizer on them. After applying a very thin layer, allow it to dry completely before applying the top coat. I applied it at 12pm and at 12:38pm (when I write this review) the color is still even, hasn't faded and so am I didn't have to top up these 12 hours at all (eating, drinking, biting your lips and the like 😉). I really like this lipstick now that I have developed my application technique. I apply a fairly thick layer to clean, dry lips. I wait a few seconds, then take a clean handkerchief and gently place it on my lips, pressing lightly and peeling it off. I use this because it's kiss proof! My husband loves kissing me on red lips but he doesn't like wearing that! lol 😂 😉 I just don't like how quickly the moisturizer goes away. Instead, I use regular lip balm. Otherwise, I like this other complaint: Over time (6 hours of wear) the inside of my lips doesn't tint anymore, it wears out faster there than the outside of the lips.
