💦 Powerful Rio Plus 1000 Aqua Pump - 271 GPH for Efficient Water Circulation Review

Bought to replace a noisy return pump on my SCA 24 and it works great. Very quiet and great power. I have used many Taam Rio pumps in the past and have always found them reliable and inexpensive.

This pump makes a ridiculous noise. I thought the one I received was defective so I returned it and exchanged it for another to find that it also makes a ridiculous noise. Very dissatisfied with my purchase. You get what you pay for.

I am a bit confused as to whether this pump is UL listed or not. I have the 1700 and 1400 and they both have "UL" after their model numbers. This 1000 is advertised as UL listed but comes in older packaging than pictured and no UL in the model number. I'm not sure if this model is UL listed and I would consider this false advertising. Unfortunately I cannot contact the seller for clarification.

I have always used TAAM Rio pumps in my aquariums, this is the noisiest pump I have ever used! None of my previous ones made any noise. It's been a few days now and nothing has changed like it's broken. Most pumps settle down after a few hours, but not this one. I have checked that the propeller is aligned and that there is nothing in the pump and the pump is not touching anything that could make it rattle.
