Power Wheels 18 volt mod!

Speed controller used to slow down the performance of our baby bikes after they were converted to run on 18v Milwaukee batteries. The running time is amazing for those who are interested. With the speed controller we were able to adjust the speed of the motors back to the appropriate level, first we slowed them down so that our child could drive the car comfortably, and then we increased them a little. No problems with heat build-up or slipping of the adjustment knob. The motors and speed…

Pros
  • Infinitely variable motor, no noise or vibration, power indicator, wide range of duty cycle settings
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Works like a champ!

I built a denitrification reactor to breed anaerobic bacteria and reduce nitrate. For this it is necessary to create a low-oxygen environment with a suitable environment for the growth of bacteria. This requires reducing the water flow to below 50 gallons per hour. I set up this small system using Seachem De*nitrate, two Fishes 150 reactors, a simple fountain pump rated at 63 GPH, a DC motor control circuit to control the pump speed, and a DC power supply. Plugging in was easy and it works like

Pros
  • With imported high-voltage MOS tube, three 100V high-frequency low-resistance capacitors, car fuses
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Perfect fit for my LED strip

I bought an LED strip but it didn't come with a power supply or dimmer and I wasn't about to splurge on dimmer switches and fancy power supplies. So I bought this PWM controller and a 12V power supply (also under $20) to power and control my LED strip. This controller appears to be very efficient and generates minimal heat for my application. While turning the potentiometer knob all the way doesn't turn it off completely, this controller has a switch on the side to turn it off completely, so it

Pros
  • PWM frequency: 12kHz
Cons
  • Some bugs

RioRand 7-80V PWM motor speed controller

This RioRand motor speed controller is perfect for my Watersnake trolling motor with 24 lbs of thrust. I was able to remove the ribs in the white top half and attach the controller with a single nut and bolt to attach the device to the top inner half. The 11 1/2 inch cable to the control switch was then routed through the handle and attached to the front of the trolling motor by drilling a 5/16 inch hole in the end of the handle. I cut off the inside of the handle leaving about 4 inches, but…

Pros
  • Potentiometer cable (approx. 15cm) detachable, with stop-on-motion function
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived
