Follow instructions for best results

I used this to dye a dozen white cotton washcloths. By following the directions and using the requested dish soap and salt, my washcloths turned out to be a perfect navy blue. This is also the process for dyeing viscose and linen. There are also guidelines for dyeing nylon, silk, and wool. I would follow the instructions exactly. How I used it with the HE Carpet Dye Washer

I used it to dye something old uses 100% cotton rugs. They were a very light green color. I wasn't sure if I could do this in my HE washing machine. I have jacuzzi 2 years old. It has a high water level setting which is a joke because the water still doesn't cover the clothes. I first wet 2 carpets in a rinse and spin cycle. Mixed results

I wanted to experiment with the Rit dye to see if it is. Just as described, so I tried on a new t-shirt - 70% cotton, 30% synthetic. It was hoped that Rit's navy blue dye would turn a light blue shirt into a navy blue without soiling the white lettering on the shirt. To ensure the correct dye was used, I emailed the photo to Rit and they asked their "color expert" to decide which dye to use.
