Fixes my lamp best in cables, adapters and multiple sockets

The perfect cord switch that fixed my lamp. Can be used again! Just note the two cable sizes. This derailleur is designed for larger diameter cables. There are thin lines that require a different size derailleur. Easy to install, but had to use soft-grip pliers to squeeze firmly and drive the metal plate into the cable for the conduit.

Fits snugly over old lamp cord but works as advertised

We were able to save Mom's beloved old lamp by replacing the rotary switch. The inside of the compartment on this replacement was a bit tighter than the original and it took a couple of well placed pliers to squeeze the cord to make it thin enough, but then it worked and she's happy. We would have liked to screw it in more tightly, but had to leave a small gap to allow the swivel mechanism to rotate. Like I said, it was tight, but it worked.

Not easy - extension cord

These switches are working properly. I wouldn't say it's super easy to install, but it's not super hard either. About 3/4 inch needs to be cut from the hot side of the wire where it runs through the switch to break continuity to allow the switch to do its job. Cutting out this section also allows the cable to lay flat inside the switch so the two halves can be screwed together. No instructions are included, and judging by some of the other reviews that have comments about soldering and wire…
