These are one of the best pairs of shoes I have ever owned; the rest are also Rockport. They felt very comfortable right from the start and didn't have to be "broken". I have an office job and I can't live with my second pair for more than 8 months. Extremely comfortable but terrible design. As the toe flexes as you walk, the black on the front cuts through the suede, leaving a hole. Bought both pairs. When I contacted customer service I said I could send them back and get another pair in 6-8 weeks if they turned out to be defective.
