Overall, upon inspection, the product made a pleasant impression at first glance. The investigation revealed that the shoes were not of the Rockport quality I expected. Rockport shoes have never disappointed me. The upper is made of nice soft leather, although the color is a bit lighter than I expected. These are very light shoes - not what you need for winter unless you live in good weather. The outsole of this shoe has an all-rubber feel. The landing is a bit big. I have ordered both a black and a brown pair of these shoes. I love that the style of the shoe is paired with jeans or dress pants. I have small feet (size 8 / medium width) and the shoes fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I love that the insole is removable so I can use my custom orthotics. I'm holding back a 5 star rating because I don't know how long the shoes will last.

Love the simple design of this shoe and have worn Rockports before (Pilot) for the comfort and consistency. But this shoe was a challenge. Three attempts to get a "reasonable" landing with no success. The fit of the shoe seems completely arbitrary. 10.5 is my normal size, too small. 11 is my next normal size, good length but tight as a vise. Next, 11W was like wearing a box. Like almost all Rockport shoe factories, they have their own scales, and who knows what you'll get.

My fiance decided to try these because they came in different sizes. He needed 10.5 wide. When the shoes arrived we could tell right away that they were MUCH narrower than the ones he was already wearing. We checked twice to make sure we got the right size and it was. But the landing was terrible. The "broad" selection is narrower than other brands. almost an inch! The shoes themselves looked good so I really wish I could give them a higher rating.

Excellent shoes - seriously. Really good fit and very comfortable right off the bat. I have wide feet so it's difficult to find comfortable dress shoes as most dressy men have narrow banisters. I bought these to replace a completely worn out Johnston & Murphy and was blown away by how comfortable they are, even compared to J&M's which cost 2.5 times the price. A word of caution: Rockport soles are slippery unless they rub a bit, so be careful walking on tile floors while they're brand new.
