Burned out within a month.

A month after I bought 2 sets for my boat one of them burst. They are driven by a Rockville amplifier. I emailed Rockville and after several days of no response I called them. The man on the phone says to send it back. I sent the defective speaker back and a week later got an email saying I had to return the other speakers as well as they are being sold as a pair, of course I would have to pay shipping. I was initially enthusiastic about their amplifiers and speakers because of their price, but

After two years of use,

has already been blown up. I power them with a small amp that puts out less than the RMS rating of the speakers, but enough power to keep a 400w top-of-the-range speaker (typically) within the proper maintenance window if the advertised capacity was correct. One of the loudspeakers exploded after two years of operation. For two years I've been happy with their performance and size, but now I only have one that works. A busted speaker ruins my tunes so here I am looking for a replacement and…

Very loud and clear sound.

I installed this on my boat along with a couple of smaller Clarions and a Polk unamplified stereo. Over the weekend, I took my boat to the usual sandbar party spot off Peanut Island in South Florida. Met my neighbor on his new big expensive boat and anchored next to him. Turned on the music and immediately turned off my sound system, his first question was if I had an amplifier installed. No, normal deck. These speakers are loud and clear, definitely worth the money. Only time will tell if it…

Good price. Speakers took minutes

I bought a Rockville amp power kit Rockville says the amp should match the speakers perfectly. I even used a multimeter to make sure I wasn't pushing the speakers past RMS. Sounded good with the amp around 70% gain. At full volume they fall apart a bit. Click on a vole and it's clean. After setting up on 1ride, one speaker wheezed and severely distorted the sound. Others are still pretty clear after a few hours. Felt it was a good buy. Tried to make everything out of Rockville. If I'm…

Decent speakers - marine speakers

They were installed on my trailer to replace the factory 4 inch speakers. While they're definitely an upgrade, they still don't quite live up to my expectations. I rescued them with a 200w amp and I was hoping they would "rock" the camp a little more. There is no bass, nor any serious distortion whatsoever. I wasn't expecting much from 6 1/2" speakers as they were really designed. just mid-range but when I hear how bluetooth speakers half the size put them to shame I think I raised the bar a…
