Not for Rode VideoMic Me

Multiple reports claim this cable works as an extension for the Rode VideoMic Me directional microphone for iPhone, iPad or Mac smartphones. It does not work with these devices and Rode VideoMic ME. This cable is TRS and a TRRS cable is needed to power this particular Rode microphone with 3V.

The cable broke after a few uses

I have used this cable several times with a professional video microphone and now the cable seems to be broken. I have been careful with the cable, stored it properly and tried to make it last as long as possible, but I am frustrated that now it no longer picks up stereo sound, sound comes from one side and goes with the movement of the cable. I would invest a little more in a longer lasting cable.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • High price

Worked for a year. Hooray?

Bought last October. I'm a (slow) YouTuber and use my mic about once a week. I recently noticed that the cable is having connection issues. No sound on wired connection; However, when I connect the microphone directly to the camera, it works again, so the problem is definitely with the cable. I mean it's not too expensive but a year of light use? Come on Rode.

I shoot DSLR video and wanted to just take my Rode Videomic Pro off the camera and this cable cuts the interference in half compared to Radio Shack's $7.95 3.5mm cable. But as mentioned, this is not an XLR cable. I have experienced cell phone interference when the sound tower operator receives an incoming message. Be careful when using this cable near…

Expensive cable, CHEAP materials

For a $20 10ft cable called RODE I expected high quality! What I got was garbage! The product arrived quickly as I have a prime. Was in a plain bubble mail box, was undamaged when received. Last weekend I tried to make a video on Youtube with my ring light. A DSLR was pointed through my ring light with a cable and a Rode VideoMicro microphone mounted on a tripod four feet away and connected through this extension. Cable. There was a loud buzz and the rest of the sound was lost. Just to make…
