No bike shop near me had a tool to replace my Rohloff sprocket. It fits perfectly. Unfortunately it removed more than just the sprocket so I either needed another special tool or I cut the old sprocket off. (See photo)

Works as expected. NOTE: However, you do not need this tool when reversing or replacing the spline gear. On some Rohloffs, the sprocket and sprocket retainer are one piece (and this tool allows you to unscrew it from the hub). Rohloff also offers an installation where the sprocket and sprocket holder are two separate parts. In this case, all you have to do is pry off the snap ring, move the spline gear, then reverse or replace the gear and reverse the steps.
