Black enough for my needs, leaves no shine after drying. Works great with fountain pens and brushes and unlike many inks that say "waterproof" it is actually waterproof. It also dries very quickly, so you're unlikely to accidentally soil it. I've been an artist for a few years now, and while I haven't tried all of the black inks, this is my favorite so far.

Yes - this is a waterproof black ink. But - the black is more of a grey-black than the darker black I was expecting based on the reviews. I think I should have read more reviews but thought I had enough information to make an informed purchase. If you want nice dark black ink, this isn't it. If all you need is waterproof black ink, that's fine. Three stars for color and high price.

Look how AMAZON sent me this glass bottle of permanent ink. No box or extra pads. Just this big, thin envelope. Luckily the glass arrived safely. Otherwise, someone's hands and clothes would be very dirty. Beware of careless AMAZON! Aside from the sloppy delivery, the product is excellent. Waterproof. Good black. Flows well in my fountain pen. I would give 1 star for sloppy shipping but 5 stars for a great product. So I put 4 in total. Just beware of those who ship your bottled ink!

TL;DR Excellent spreadability, no smudging or smearing, surprisingly long lasting (see below) and incredibly affordable. I would recommend it to any artist who likes to draw with fountain pens (it also works with fountain pens or brushes, but there are better inks for that).
