Lens features a built-in petal shaped hood and a rear gelatin filter holder.

Might be exceptional

Quick edit of my original review below. I bought this lens when it was $500 and now I see it in the $350 range all the time. I will probably try again in the future. Also see my original review below. The calibration failed completely and the focus ring didn't work at all. It's a premium price because it's an RF mount compared to the EF model. Great addition to the RF lens

I consider myself a semi-professional photographer and this lens is now a great addition to Canon's RF lens collection. While it doesn't have autofocus, I don't really miss it, and the R-series' peak focusing is very useful. It takes really great pictures - I was impressed with the clarity of the image. Rokinon Rocks with their first RF lens

I am a professional real estate photographer and have previously used a Canon EF 17-40mm F/4 L or Sigma 12-24mm F/4 ART because of their width. The problem with both of these lenses is that they are heavy, the Canon was lighter than the Sigma but not as wide either. I often have to photograph the back of houses with very short backyards.
