Swimwear runs on the small side so I decided to order it for my 9 year old son. He is very active and has an athletic build. He is 9 and I ordered XXL for him and it fits him well. Any less and it would be too small. The colors are really beautiful.

I would buy one size larger than usual. A bit tight for my older son and I bought his normal size. Otherwise great swimsuit.
