ROKR Wooden Express Puzzles for Adults Review

I put together several of these wooden puzzles. ROKR has always impressed me with the quality of the material and the detailed instructions. The MC501 Prime Steam Express didn't have either. The instructions were not part of those listed. The wheel joint was very weak and the wheels kept falling off during assembly. Many details were too small for my hands. The retaining clips weren't very strong.

As this is my fourth ROKR set I didn't expect any less quality. Well the whole set was easy to remove from the boards. The details are small and my old arthritic hands had a bit of a problem, but still doable. The main problem is that not all parts are assembled and stay assembled. The wheels had to be glued to many other loose parts. The kit is worth the money, but less than other models available.

Honestly, at one point I got angry and confused. But a sensible patch of glue to hold the flexpanel in place helped a lot. Although I was excited, I took a deep breath and put everything back together. The fact that I bought five more puzzles should give you an idea of how things went. This is my second wooden construction. I've made Metal Earth kits but my eyes get so tired trying to focus on minute details and even with my magnifying glass they can be quite tiring. Also, I ran out of models that interested me. I'm excited for the new wood sets as they have larger pieces and the first set was surprisingly strong. I have some ROKR 3D wooden puzzles and they are fun and challenging to put together. Keep in mind that Prime Steam Express is much smaller than most ROKR products. I enjoyed building this wooden 3D model of a 19th century European steam locomotive. I wish someone would make one out of an American locomotive, but it's a very nice display.
