It's a small animal! for portable audio and video

Great value and easy to use! Multitrack recorder, music player, drum machine and effects processor in one tiny box. It's like having an entire recording studio in your pocket. I use it for my daily guitar practice. Its size allows me to do it anywhere without any problems.

Pros
  • Got it!
Cons
  • New competitors are here

Roland BR-80 Portable Digital Recorder

Pretty decent device compared to what I have, only the spinning wheel doesn't work with a finger. Roland has built-in kickstands for viewing angles and device control. I have used Jams with friends they were so impressed when they heard this and saw I had velcro attached to my guitar. I bought a RAVPower 7800mAh Portable Charger with External Battery Power Bank (2.4A output, 2A input) to use with this device for long life

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Almost OK

My Favorite Musical Instrument

It's basically almost every Boss guitar effects processor, amp modeling, digital multitrack recorder, drum machine, and two of the best condenser mics you'll ever use, all in a box that fits in your gig bag. Sure, you can do most things with apps on your smartphone for less, but the instrument jack and built-in mics make it the perfect all-round instrument for any musician. It's cheap, powerful, and easy to use. I like it.

Hopelessly outdated for portable audio and video

1 it's hopelessly outdated. It's like technology that's over 20 years old, SUPER SLOW - pop in a larger card {the original is a whopping 2GB} and it will slow down to a bare minimum. The selector gets really sluggish and inaccurate.2 EBAND SOFTWARE IS TERRIBLE. There is no way to organize tracks. Tracks are loaded in random order. really pathetic.3 LIVE RECORDING is really annoying. There is no way to mark tracks. requires one key-in and 20 characters, typing the minimum for the organization…

No customer service or technical support

This review focuses on customer service/technical support. I had an issue that I couldn't figure out after hours of reading instructions, searching the web and YouTube. I tried several times within two days to contact the manufacturer and the seller by phone and email. Both places have answering machines to leave a message (neither place has a live person). I left at least 5 messages and sent 3 emails between the two. It's been 4 days and I haven't heard from any of them. The BR-80 has a lot to

Good times for portable audio and video

This little device is great. It's really quite powerful and so portable. Lots of useful bits and not that hard to program. Guitar patches are also very useful. The cut, copy, and paste feature works well, but carry a notepad with you so you can remember where to cut. Keep the manual with you for the first few times you use it and you'll quickly get the hang of it. You can use it as a sketch pad or program some beats and create some very believable melodies. I've definitely heard worse. It…

Perfect! Exceeded my expectations!

Excellent product. Not only is it packed with features - drums, effects, high-quality stereo condenser mics - but surprisingly for a really tiny (fits in your pocket to scream out loud!) menu-driven device, it's surprisingly simple and straightforward to use. All functions are easily accessible. My point is that the user interface - this time in products like this - is smart, intuitive and accessible. This means that many features can actually be used. What's the point of having a packed block…
