A film that really grows with you

You can never go wrong with the HP5. This film is relatively inexpensive and very forgiving, and I recommend it to medium format beginners and pros alike.

Damaged upon delivery.

Have to rewrite this as my original review was censored. The bottom line is that 2/5 of the rolls delivered were damaged during transport. When the foil was opened all the broken rolls were exposed and ruined. I switched to an (unnamed) photo supplier for my film and recommend you do the same.

New to medium format? HP5 should be your first film

HP5 is incredibly smooth, easy to work with and has amazing grain. It's also incredibly reasonably priced, and I highly recommend learning how to shoot medium format, especially if you're also testing a new camera (SPECIAL SPECIAL for old TLRS, bellows-based cameras, and cameras that haven't been serviced and tested you), as it is a bit cheaper and very easy to handle. I mostly shoot with color film, but this is great black and white film, especially for the price.
