As Described: Power Tool Parts & Accessories

This bit was purchased in place of the standard 3/4" bit which simply could not meet the demand for homes that required planning. Beat did exactly as advertised. Used in conjunction with a Dewalt DW625 when planning a black walnut top. The passes were made to a depth of about 1/4 inch with a setting of about 3 on the Dewalt router. Nice! Clean, light, cuts through like butter. I will say that I've noticed that after many passes the bit has really dulled compared to the first 10 passes. I think…

Pros
  • 1/2" Shank Diameter
Cons
  • Quick Guide

Cuts like a champion! - Straight, Spiral, and Trimming Cutters

I've read several reviews that say you should definitely buy the most expensive cutters you can find - they cut better and stay sharp longer "Well I had a pretty big job for a client - I used it to level the surface of a black walnut slab for a dining table. It's a very expensive piece of wood and I've been working on it for over half a day. This drill bit cuts like... a champ - I've never seen a drop in performance and he'll probably make another dozen records easily I really didn't see…

Pros
  • W=7/16" cutting length
Cons
  • Expensive

Carbide coated tip for clean transitions across large panels. I just used this to smooth out a slab of sycamore about 96" x 16". Run it on a Festool OF1400 and got great results with no tearing. Leaves some marks on the surface that can easily be sanded away with a random orbital sander. The cutter box says it's made in Taiwan (remember the days before the ubiquitous "Made in China" label, it's made in Taiwan). Given the higher wages in Taiwan, I'm surprised this beat was made in Taiwan…

Pros
  • A = 1-1/2 inch cutter diameter
Cons
  • No instructions
