Comes assembled and well packaged. It has enough weight so that there are no unwanted movements. We're using it on a wooden floor, so the non-slip rubber on the bottom works great.

This should have gotten 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that the first one I got was a disaster. The wood was broken on one side, the supports weren't bolted straight and the wood on top was worn. Received the replacement quickly, just what I wanted. Good height and support to climb into a high bed. It is beautifully finished and looks great with the rest of my furniture.

We have a raised canopy bed and our new mattress set adds about two inches to the height. I have a small staircase at my side that helps me get to bed. My husband wanted a small step on his side but I didn't want any of those plastic steps that I use in the toilet. This stool has a very simple design and looks great in the bedroom. I bought this item because I am having surgery and wanted something fully assembled. He received a thank you letter stating that the product had passed a thorough quality check. I beg to differ. One side had 3 of the 6 screws completely knocked out of the wood because the holes were cleaned (all on one side) so couldn't fix them, they just went in and fell out.
