🎒 Rothco Backstrap Hydration Pack Review

It can get pretty expensive at the post office where you're paying a retail price of over $40 or so. I paid about $20 for it and it is exactly the same camel as what I would buy from PX.

This pack comes in very handy where I live. The water bottle will freeze if carried outside in winter. It's close enough to my body that my body heat doesn't freeze water

I am very impressed with the quality of this Camelback. It's built very strong. I only recommend washing it well before the first fill to get rid of the PVC taste and smell, but that is common with all membrane camelbacks!

I bought this a little over a month ago to run because I want to join the Marine Corps. I have to say this is simply an amazing product. I like that it holds a lot of water. This is a really great product, built to last for heavy use. I've seen Marines in Afghanistan use the exact same ones. The only bad thing is that it's a little hard to pull out the first time, but pretty easy after that. If you are looking for something similar or very similar get this, trust me you will love it.

I don't know if it's a cheap fake or something but it's not what's pictured at all. There are coppery details in the picture, but they are brown instead. The colors are not the same. For example, the tube is black, not green. There is no color difference between the straps and the main body. The overall design is also slightly different. The image gives it an almost steampunk look while being very simple. If the photo showed a real product and not a fake, I would not buy it.

Bought this backpack and paired it with the Rothco Army Digital Camo Medium Transport Pack. A little creativity with the strap makes for a great and functional backpack. There was some trouble getting water out of the mouthpiece because it's sealed, but it started working after about half an hour. Screwing the mouthpiece back onto the hose can be very tricky and difficult as it doesn't seem to want to be screwed on, so removing the mouthpiece unnecessarily is recommended. Well made hydrator. Much better quality than I expected but then again this is Rothco and I am happy with most of their stuff. The material it is made of is durable, the straps and buckles are also of good quality. The drinking tube can be moved to exit at either shoulder and the spout can be opened/closed by turning the spout up or down. It also comes with a nozzle cover to protect the end.
