Rough Country 50-inch LED Windshield Mounting Brackets for 🚙 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ (Light Not Included, Part No. 70503) Review

Perfect for TJ. The factory torx on the TJ might be the biggest PITA, I took one off trying to remove it. Heat the screws first, then use a small center punch and a little clockwise/counterclockwise before attempting to remove the standard TJ Torx screws.

This rating should have stars. We had to go through 3 rounds to get it right. The first two sets were sent with no padding or packaging, and we're all scratched. It took a third try and a chat with Ricky from Rough Country which was AMAZING to get it right. The brackets are well made and of good quality. Easy installation kit included. I just hate that it took 3 rounds to get it right.

Looks great up close to the top of the Wrangler TJ. My lightbar is 49.5 inches wide and these brackets fit perfectly, just needed a little tightening. The only problem is how close they are to the windshield. It's about 1/2 inch. I'm very afraid that if I hit a branch while unloading, it could push the bracket into my glass. Apart from this great product. They look really well made, thick steel, good powder coating and good looking.

Fairly easy installation. What they don't mention are the 2 latches closest to the door. Be sure to put something in the holes after removing the screws to prevent the plate from sliding down. I used 2 drills. Save yourself the headache and skip this step. Do not fully tighten anything until you insert the light bar into the bracket. Received them a day before we arrived, nice heavy brackets. Fit my holes well and gave the jeep a nice look. I didn't have to change anything to use my straight 50 inch light bar. Now it hums when driving on the road, but that's to be expected. I saw a guy say they were rusty and I hope they aren't, we'll see. This is a great buy compared to other manufacturers but as others have said they are not packaged properly and bump into each other in the box. You should have a tin of matte black paint ready and be sure to touch them up when they arrive. The only other downside is that they don't have cable channels to hide the power cords under the brackets. I use them to install a 50" Quadratec J5 lightbar and haven't had any real problems.
