Description of Extended Stainless Brake Lines for Jeep Wrangler JK (2007-2018) - Rough Country 89716

DOT approved brake line kits offer the necessary extra length to install your application, perfect for anyone who wants to swap out poor performing or decaying factory brake lines. Stainless Steel replacements offer superior protection and a seriously long lifespan. Braided stainless steel exterior keeps your lines free from off-road debris, rocks, and mud that can penetrate factory rubber lines. Durable outer layer prevents expansion of the internal Teflon layer. High Quality hollow fasteners at both ends of each brake line and S at both ends provide a leak-free flow path. Backed by Rough Country's Lifetime Replacement.

Good Brake Lines - Replacement Parts

This is a good product. The only thing I've seen is that the front lines are much shorter than the factory lines and can't be removed from the road. It should hang where it can hit anything. But they are of good quality.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Reliability

Offer more length than OEM

Anyone complaining that they are shorter than stock is just being unreasonable. They offer more reach and length than the OEM because they float behind the shock. Just do a little research and stop looking like an idiot before complaining about "length".

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Protection

Much better than more expensive brake hoses!

Honestly I'm not a big fan of RC products but these brake hoses are high quality and unlike more expensive brands these cables have a thick transparent protective coating on the braided cables that make them up . better than the rest. Look no further than these lines and save money! 10/10 and very self install.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • No power

No longer made in USA

Fits my 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport but made in China. It isn't listed in the product description but it is evident on the packaging. If it weren't for the express repair I would look for a brand that is still made in the USA because of the quality. They're not as heavy as the ones he replaces. Rough Country used to be made here, but like so many others they have sold out.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Extended behind the front shock absorber? What to expect. 😲

Nice looking well made SS slings but not that long! At least at the front. The back lines are great, but the front lines are way shorter than stock! At least 4 cm shorter. You should also route the front lines behind the shock absorbers so you don't strain the lines. Even with standard chassis. The lines behind the shocks are sticky and don't protect your lines very well when you go off-road with sticks. I'll rip those lines out as soon as I get the chance and practice bleeding the brakes a…

  • Great for a small house

  • Long delivery time

Exactly what was needed!

These lines run behind the shock, not forward like the stock. I have a 3" lift on my 2012 Jeek JK which is just what I need. OEM brake lines will restrict flow on your front brakes. I know this from experience with several Jeeps. JKUs and JK. If you have a front brake lockout have the ABS light on and you have already replaced the ABS sensor, use a hoist to swap the brake lines. That's a great price for all four! RC has come a long way without kits, I have a 3- Installed inch coil lifters with…
