Royal 79101T Classic Manual Typewriter Review

The ribbon that the typewriter came with must be old in order for it not to print. he's dry or something. I'm so disappointed - I wanted to print.

I got my first Royal typewriter in 1956 and I still have it. Works but the keys are worn and sometimes skip the space bar but still better than this. Even the tape is torn, everything dried up. So at my age I will continue to work with my old one.

I really like this typewriter, it's all about looks and features. It is very similar to my Olivetti 22. But the ink was a disaster. I completely fouled both plastic shields and smeared them all over the tape guide. The tape came all used up. I turned it all the way - all the way and saw the keystrokes the whole time. So disappointed. I thought the car was new.

Our 11 year old granddaughter wanted this most for her birthday. A prolific writer, she became intrigued by the idea of a manual typewriter after watching cartoons featuring Snoopy at the keyboard. She uses Google Docs with ease, but loves the feel and sound of a manual typewriter and spends hours on it every day. I can't speak to its performance and durability but we have a happy granddaughter.
