Super small and not much fun.

They are very small and don't work very well. We thought you could maneuver the magnets and get the dogs to "play" but when they approach they just get closer and that's it. Not very funny.

A timeless toy for girls and boys

When I was a little girl, my mother always carried Tricky Dogs in her purse. I played with them a lot in church. I was delighted to find them and enjoyed watching my grandson play with them. They fit in my purse and can keep a kid busy for a while.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • Some troubles

Cute extra small best magnets and magnetic toys

They are adorable. I am the owner of Scotty the dog and have several Scotty novelties at home. I'm also a big fan of little "desktop" toys. They're tiny, about 1" long, but they're a fun addition to my small toy collection that's displayed on my living room shelves and on my end table. My children are also enthusiastic about it.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Almost never

Not worth a dollar.

Basically a $1 item and so small I think it poses a serious choking hazard. I was in a hurry to pick out a cheap baby gift and these tiny magnets really suck. Needless to say, I don't give them. It's ten dollars. To be honest I would enjoy burning money to light cigars more. live and learn

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

I couldn't resist when I saw two bulkheads attached to magnets. I got them a long time ago as a kid and played with them for hours. The pair I bought looked pretty much the same and I played with them for minutes. Actually. I'm waiting to show them to my great grandson when he arrives soon.

  • Free for educational purposes

A piece of childhood

My grandfather carried some tricky dogs in his suit pocket for my father, a little boy, to have fun at church. My dad carried the same smart dogs in his pocket for us kids to have fun at church. Somewhere along the way they got lost. One day my father described them to my daughter and we decided to see if they were still being made. Raven's steps. My 11 year old daughter spent some of her birthday money to buy a set and she LOVES them. We are planning to buy another set for my nephew.

  • The best

Very well done - lots of nostalgic fun

A few years before he died my father bought me a set of these at a Pittsburgh clothing store. I was around 6 years old. I've played with it for hours, just mesmerized by the "creepy action at a distance" between two dogs. They've been one of my favorite things for a long time. Somehow the dogs got lost over the years, much to my dismay. When I saw them I just had to buy them to commemorate that special walk with my dad. These magnetic dogs are just as fun today as they were half a century ago.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • No

Finally! I've wanted these dogs for 40 years!

When I was a kid, my family used to drive the New York State Highway on vacation. The vending machine was always strategically placed on the way to the restrooms and I always stopped to check out all the cool stuff that was out there. Scotty's smart dogs have always been the coolest! It was just a quarter that I asked for every time we stayed. But my father always said no. (And then he had me crawl under the kiosk door and open it from the inside so he didn't have to pay a dime to use the kiosk
