is normal but difficult to read by looking at the sign, not so obvious what you will see. The plates are really thin and may not last as long as I was hoping.

It would be VERY helpful if you could identify which plate goes with which animal! I can only highlight the obvious - a cat, a dog, a deer, a duck. How do you distinguish a mountain lion from a forest wolf, etc.? Much better guidance is needed. I am the most disappointed in this product.

Bought for my niece for her 5th birthday along with Selsam's Big Footprints, Small Footprints: Animal Footprints. They're pretty thin and can be bent (the 3-year-old nephew ripped one off when we weren't looking, ha). But they held up well until she learned to use them. She pressed very hard at first, but I showed her how to detach the paper from the crayon and use it horizontally. It worked great for her!
