🚀 High-Performance Cold Air Intake Kit by Rugged Ridge for 91-95 Jeep Wrangler YJ, 4.0L Engine Review

Installed with some other mods (electric radiator fan, 3-wire aluminum radiator) to improve performance and maybe improve fuel economy a bit, but not by much Fuel. It also cleans under the hood! The instructions were vague as it appears to be a copy of a copy or some sort of 7th gen copy, it wasn't difficult to install.

I installed it at the same time as the Rugged Ridge Header and the increase in performance was impressive. The intake noise is also amazing. I can hear it through the exhaust when accelerating. It was pretty easy to install for anyone with under the hood experience. Without experience this should be quite feasible. Again a very noticeable increase in performance paired with some exhaust work.

Installation was easy. But then I installed a strong 1" throttle body gasket comb. The bracket is no longer usable unless you create a custom bracket. I actually felt better low-end torque and didn't have to use 4th gear when going uphill .Shift gear.There is a whistle in the middle of the thin pedal, but the power outweighs it.I also had to make my own fender to protect the air intake and also to protect from the heat of the radiator.Keep that in mind when installing as well to take out the…

Instructions are not good. The steps are sequential, but that's where the usefulness ends. There is a list of parts, but nothing identifies them - you have to go through the process of elimination. The images are black and white and look like they were faxed and then copied twice. The shots are also oddly magnified, making it difficult to tell at what angle to the engine the shot was taken. Perfectly installed. The material of the metal tube is thin and weak so tap it gently because it will bend the edges like it has happened to me. Even during its stay in the package. It was an easy fix and not a deal breaker, but that's the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Other reviews are true. It whistles a little, sounds like a vacuum leak.
