This is a highly customizable hour meter that allows for easy installation and easy electronic reset. I had a small problem with the first ones I bought and the company rep trusted me and installed the new units without question. I installed this unit in a blank electrical wall panel after cutting a rectangle in the wall panel. It monitors the running time of a 6" duct fan. I was curious to know how long the solar heater would run to deliver heat from the solar heater to the greenhouse. It's perfect for this purpose. I would have to remove the wall panel to do that reset the meter, but I wouldn't reset it very often.

For those wondering if it works properly for short cycles - I was concerned about the supposedly non-ideal 0.1 hour "resolution" for tracking air compressor run times, but I was pleasantly surprised from the fact that it works recording with second resolution and short cycles. The non-volatile storage is great, but it's a little annoying that it doesn't have a battery to show the hour meter when your device isn't working.

We bought a brand new boat that did not have an hour meter. (I know. Crazy) There are some RPM sequence changes we need to make with the new outboard motor. Let's assume there is an alarm at every interval and after every corresponding maintenance interval. I didn't want to just rely on signaling and take it out of the guessing game.
