The product description says waterproof. When it rained lightly, water got into the battery compartment and destroyed the electronics. Has worked well so far (about a week)

Does the job and seems really accurate. Works great on the outboard, note the cable is only a few feet long so I had to install it on the outboard myself. The display is easy to read even in direct sunlight.

Serves its purpose, but drains the battery very quickly. The device does not switch off when the engine is switched off. Always on, constantly consuming power, draining the battery when not in use. With a rigid mount, changing the battery is problematic. I used the velcro mount and replaced the plastic cover to conserve battery when the motor is not in use.

Part of the hour meter seems to work, but if you want to use a tach, look elsewhere. I've tried everything from 1 to 10 turns around the spark plug wire and all showed high revs. I even set it to 1p1r to halve the reading and it didn't work. I just want an hour meter so I didn't return it. If you need an accurate tachometer then this is not what you need, buy something else.

For the most part it does what you would expect it to do. It tracks total hours, RPM, service interval and 1 resettable job counter.
