Excellent quality, works great

Perfect for my 1997 Harley Softail Custom (FXSTC). Works exactly as advertised and appears to outperform other "Speed Pump" brands. Paired with the Russell Speed Bleeder Bag (639500), bleeding the brakes is a breeze. Much easier than using a vacuum pump.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Old fashioned

Simple and as advertised

Throw out the old, in with the new, so easy. You'll have to fiddle around a bit to find a sweet spot at about 1/4 turn (but not exactly) to bleed properly. I didn't see it in any instructions, I found it on YouTube. Could maybe follow some simple instructions for this particular procedure. But overall, just as advertised and works great.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Expensive

Works great.

Replaced stock vents on my 2002 HD Road King. They were painful to start threading because of all that thread sealant getting applied to them. Install them fully, then flip them back 180 degrees (I found this to be the "best point"). They let pressurized brake fluid through, but don't let air or bad fluid back into the caliper when the brake is released. 100% recommended.

Best one person brake bleed solution

Performance Machine 6 Piston Front Calipers (R40526) with a clear hose in a mayonnaise can to catch old brake fluid. These are the best of them. They only seem to fail when overtightened. I've been using them for 28 years.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Not as thick as other

Real-time saver for controls

I've known these bleed valves for a long time. I don't know why I waited so long to try them, I will be buying more! They turn the work of two people into a simple job of one person. They also have a nice wide wrench flat which means my gorilla hands are less likely to round the corners of the nut like I did with my standard bleed screws. Don't wait like me, if you are considering them, buy them now! I'm still getting one for the rear of the bike and also some brake work for a car I'm about to…

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Excellent bloodsuckers! Best Parts

It's Great! This is the only option if you are working with hydraulic brakes and do not need a second person to operate the brake pedal. I installed them on both of my Harleys and it was easy to do. A word of caution. Use a hex socket wrench when removing old fittings to avoid rounding flat surfaces. Because sometimes they are quite difficult to unscrew. I would also use penetrating oil on them if I had to do it again. Now the reason for the 4 stars: There was a thick thread sealant on the vent
