Description of πŸšͺ RV Designer G21 Gas Prop Door Support: 20-Inch, 10 lb. Load Capacity – Exterior Hardware for Reliable Support

Commonly used on RV entry doors. Replace your gas prop by matching its length and force as close as possible. One gas prop per package, 20 inch extended length, 10 lbs force. If there are 2 props, replace them both to keep door feet balanced.

Right strength for my Jayco door

I bought this to replace the stock 20lb spring that was on my Jayco. A 20 pound spring would nearly blow the door off its hinges if the handle accidentally slipped out of your hand, and the original spring ended up breaking. I have this 10 lb spring and it opens the door softly but still has decent holding power to keep it open.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Requires socket

Works, but maybe too well?

Received quickly, fits perfectly but is a little strong for a light van door. He will open the door, be prepared. That being said, the original was 14 years old and may have lost the "quill" a bit, so I might be misjudging. We're using it for now on the assumption that it will break something and will definitely keep the door open even in good winds.

  • Pleasant to use

The right size of shock absorbers, struts and suspension

should be given this size to raise the end of the RV bed platform for access under storage. Q2 of 20 (40 total) and Q2 of 40 (80 total) did not qualify. Even 60 seconds (120 total) requires little effort to raise the end of the bed platform. Possibly because the strut force is at an angle rather than 100% vertical, so only the full force vector is used. I didn't want to walk any further as the bottom/end of the bed might pop out on bumpy roads. Precisely.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Lean Statement

Loading power is important

I used to buy a similar fuel stop to replace a broken door in my camper van. I didn't pay much attention and ended up with a 100lb capacity - the door wouldn't close. Returned this one (thanks to Revain for making this fairly painless); was more careful with the replacement; and bought this one. Fits perfectly and has enough carrying capacity to hold the door open against the wind and still close easily.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • not trendy

Perfect replacement for a camp door damper

This was the perfect replacement for a Bigfoot RV door. The dimensions matched and the new one was the right replacement. The new one runs and looks much better (the old one was rusty). One thing to keep in mind when remodeling door hardware, you may have other brackets and hardware that need cleaning or replacing. In particular, I recommend purchasing stainless steel screws for any items you are replacing.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
