Almost perfect

One gripe: The spinning disc makes you think the higher you turn it, the faster it spins. The dial rotates smoothly; it doesn't click in locked positions. But the speed doesn't increase until you reach a certain pivot point. The increase in speed is more like: level 1, level 2, level 3, etc. It's not gradual or analog. Besides, I like it.

Pros
  • 36" flexible shaft handle design for maximum precision and comfort
Cons
  • alt

Not bad, but not great

As a woodcarver I have other similar rotary tools but as a man I needed this one too. Also, I have all these other Ryobi tools, so why not get another green item for my shop? My issue is that it's very noisy and doesn't have a tip slot if you're left handed. I love the layout and how I can stick all my commonly used bits at the top until I lose them in the end.

Pros
  • Includes 33 bits for various uses
Cons
  • Only available in white

Don't buy this one

Works great, handy for field work as you don't need an extension cord, works great with about 20 Ryobi One batteries I have lying around. The problem is that the collet is not aluminum. It can be easily damaged by contact with the target surface. You can't buy a collet anywhere. I spend hours searching and calling, even going to the Home Depot. "Universal" dremmel nuts are not suitable. I called Ryobi several times, after an hour of waiting they told me that they couldn't buy a nut. However…

Pros
  • Up to 34,000rpm for high output
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks
