Description of ๐Ÿšฒ SABLUE Red Float ON AXLE Bike Chain Keeper Holder Dummy Sleeping Hub Tool for Efficient Bicycle Cleaning and Transporting

Float along an axle. Designed to hold a bike chain away from the frame during cleaning, transporting, lubing and storage a bike. It's easy to use: simply remove the rear wheel and fit the Chain Keeper in the wheel dropout above the rear derailleur. It keeps the chain tensioned and away from the frame and paintwork. Used to stop your chain from getting tangled up during transportation or when cleaning your chain, avoids tangle and keeps the frame from scratching. Not affected by cleaning chemicals or lubrication products. Suitable for MTB and road bikes, aluminum and carbon frame.

Is it worth next to nothing?

So I have a 2014 Jamis MTB that I'm using it on. It keeps slipping out no matter how hard I try to attach it, I literally couldn't get it to work. For the record, I have a number of bikes/forks/etc. built, so I'm at least a little mechanically inclined, enough to expect that I won't have as many problems with such a seemingly simple subject. You will probably regret your purchase.

Perfect for my road bike.

I won't lie, this thing will make your life easier. I used it along with a park tool chain cleaner and my chain was sparkling in no time. This allows you to easily clean the chain, derailleur and cranks. What I like about it is that I can clean all the oily parts without getting oil all over the rear wheel (disconnected) and the surrounding tubes. I'm glad I bought it. I would highly recommend it for your road bike.

SABLUE Float ON AXLE Bike Chain Holder

Great product for transporting with the wheels down or for cleaning/lubricating the chain. Before I used b1 oil on both and while it was a great product, the b1 held the chain in a fixed position that didn't allow the rear end to move. when lubricating the chain, as SABLUE does. In addition, SABLUE's design is well thought out so that it can be used in 130 and 135 pitch, so it can be used with road bikes or mountain bikes. Great bike tool!

  • Drivetrain Components
Cons
  • Good, but not great

Very difficult to install

The tool assembles as shown in the fourth picture above, but it will pop out once the chain touches the dummy pulley. It works a little better if you mount each spring between the end of the rod and the T-cup so that the cap rests on the inside of the rear wheel dropout, but then it takes almost three hands to tighten the tool. . Maybe a version that only uses the derailleur side of the rear wheel will work better.

Cons
  • Not sure

Great tool for specific purposes

That's a great idea, just what I was looking for. I drive the lightweight Racers Gold Rush, which is very long and sticks out the other side of my car when mounted on a hitch bike rack. I plan to use this tool to keep the chain from dangling when transporting it with the rear wheel removed. I also see some value in the shop if you work a bike with the rear wheel off and say you want to operate your derailleur or maybe even clean your chain.
