I originally bought this to use with a Microtech controller. They had a special cable to connect the controller's serial port to the software on the laptop. It's running at a low baud rate and this device couldn't reach that baud rate so the ECU would just drop the connection. 2 seconds or so. As is the case with any old interface. YMMV honestly.
