Saeco 996530007754 12000142 Ulka Pump Review

Fits and works like the original. This is the 3rd pump in my espresso machine, they are on average 5-7 years old (yes they are that old). Replacement is easy, although this time I had to replace some o-rings that are not part of the pump.

Replaced my broken pump on my Saeco Minuto with this unit. The coffee machine is now working properly again and the coffee output is like new. Make sure you get the right size when ordering (check the Saeco parts website first), I need an Eap5/S (note the S at the end).

These pumps are amazingly affordable and will last for decades. I replaced the old pump because I thought it had lost some power (pressure) but I don't think it has. This replacement was easy to install in my 20 year old Proteo (Starbucks) espresso machine. Given the low cost of the pump and the fact that it is used in almost all household machines, the boiler and controller should make up the majority of the cost of these units.

After installing the pump I noticed a water leak where the hose fitting connects to the front of the pump. Tried various things like tightness, even used o-ring grease. After 3 tries (uninteresting in the tight spaces of the machine) I noticed that the old pump had a nice chamfer on the pump outlet while the new one was rough and looked used. I had to disassemble the pumps and swap the old outlet for the new pump with new parts, it works fine but I'm subtracting 2 starts for all the work and…
