Safavieh American Homes Collection Freddy Wicker Storage Bench in Brown Review

I was so excited when I found this bench that was the perfect size for the space I have in my entryway. However, when the item arrived it was in poor condition. The wood was cracked and chipped, the item was covered in dust and debris, and the baskets appeared to have mold. The outer box was in good condition, but the bench itself was not. Very disappointing! Looks like the bench might be what I needed, but I'll order elsewhere next time.

DO NOT buy this bench! This third party company is NOT accommodating to their customers AT ALL! I only had trouble fixing the wrong item sent and the carts were brittle and falling apart! There was MOLD in a basket. Yes, MOLD! They told me that what they sent me was correct; it was NOT and I proved it to them by sending them pictures of their Vintage White tag! It was brown! Pros: It's really cute. Perfect size for the room. Great storage for hats and collars, winter gloves etc. Also it's huge - I was about to spend an hour putting it together this afternoon when I saw it was delivered. SUPER glad to see it came fully assembled! Cons: Baskets don't fit well in drawers (they fit EASILY) and the weave is very rough - it scratches the white trim on the bench. Looks like the bench needed another coat (or three) of clear coat, it's not a smooth finish I guess.

I really like this bench with wicker baskets. I've read reviews that said it arrived damaged but mine was boxed and then a larger box with foam around the smaller box. There were dents on the outer packaging, but these did not affect the furniture. There are two downsides. First, they don't offer replacement top pads, and I have cats and am concerned about having to replace the top pad. Bought to use as a seat in the master bedroom whilst wearing shoes and socks. It is very durable if the center divider is placed exactly as it is. Delivered very quickly, fully assembled and very well packaged, so no damage. I weigh 200 pounds and I'm sure he can handle a much heavier person. I was delighted to order this piece assembled. The bench itself looks great. The only complaint is that I ordered the distressed white and it seems creamier than the picture. The bench arrived dirty, which is fixable. Baskets are the main problem. They are dirty and cannot be cleaned thoroughly. They have black soot all over them and possibly mold. This is a VERY nice bench! It was surprisingly strong and well built. The product was very well packaged, the product was not damaged during delivery. The first thing that struck me was the colour.
