Does what it says on the tin for sure

Buy a door that cats need to access water and food but don't want the door left open. I didn't take into account that the door was too hard to push open. Use it on another door that isn't as heavy. I also like that it's clear

Perfect for what I need

I was looking for a way to keep my doors from slamming when the windows are open (and keep my cat from getting in one of them getting stuck while i'm away) and it works. Placing them on the door frame not only looks better, it keeps them from sliding around the sides and gives you a little more control over how far or how wide you want the door to stay open. I found they didn't match my door hinges (as claimed) but that wasn't a problem for me.

  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • So far so good

Inexpensive and durable

The silicone came yellowed and opaque so it was very noticeable on our white doors. Aesthetics aside, it works very well. I don't put it on a loop. This reduced the annoying noise when closing our door. And my kids can put it on and take it off quickly and I don't have to worry about it breaking. Most importantly, it hangs on the doorknob when I need to close the door. Before that, I had a cheap foam rubber that just fell off when I put it on the handle and started annoying.

  • Easy to read control panel

AMAZING - So Many Baby Fingers Saved

AMAZING! I'm not sure why anyone would put them on hinges, even though the packaging says you can do this. Just put them on the door by the handle and they work GREAT! I got one for free last year and didn't even know they were on hinges, we only held them to doorknobs when the door was closed and then put them on the edge of the door when we wanted to prevent children's fingers. They stick to the door and handle so well and move back and forth easily, much better than the foam ones I bought. I

Save your fingers! best in safety

so far so good! Saves my little boys (almost 2 yrs old) fingers when my special needs (almost 8 yrs old) continues their "walk in room and walk out 15 times" adventure. My baby doesn't understand that he still can't put his hand in the closing door and she doesn't understand that she can't close the door in front of him. She can also be pretty hard on the door and she hasn't fallen and given way yet, don't expect that either. It's easy to turn on and off, set at any height, saves fingers and…

  • there are nuances

Ideal for bedroom and bathroom doors so our little ones don't get in the room and get their fingers caught. We use them on the handle side of the door, not the hinge side of the door. They are grippy enough not to slip or fall off and can be quickly moved from the edge of the door to the doorknob when we really want to close the door. We also place them at about eye level (high) so that children cannot reach them. There doesn't seem to be any risk if they chew it (by grabbing the doorknob of a…

I love that it holds its shape well

One of our best baby safety devices! We have purchased several other brands/types of finger traps but these are durable and hold their shape best. It can be placed at either end of the door where the hinges or doorknob are located, and can be hung on the doorknob when not in use. What we like best is that it holds its shape well. Other finger traps we find after a few uses that we can no longer hang them on the doorknob as the material has stretched and when we try to hang them on the doorknob…

best advice i can give for kids rooms

they will do the job. We had our fingers caught by the door and it broke my heart. Our baby was the one whose finger slammed the door. Luckily everything was fine with her. The problem with this particular one is that it will peel the paint off your door. It was a small price to pay for us not to let that aspect stop us from using them. What ultimately made us stop using them is that they are uncomfortable. They don't fit to the front door. We tried all positions, right side of the door, left…
