Great board for the price

No problem with every board I've received over 5 have been controlling various aspects of my smart home for over 2 years. For those who need help, this is the easiest way to connect them. to the Raspberry PI: The relays are activated when the relay contact is pulled to LOW (0) volts. The pins are made for Arduino but will work with PI if you connect a 3V LED between the relay board and the PIGND pin on the relay board ----------> the GND pin on the pin the Raspberry PIRelay board --- -&gt…

Great Relay Board

I use this board to power my electronic sign. The relay controls different light sources to create animations. First, the board doesn't come with documentation; So you probably need to go to secondary sources like YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSs-he1Mk3k) to understand how the board works. Although functional, it's simple. A 12V 1.0A power supply is required to power the relay array, which I used with an Arduino Mega 2560 R3 board. Connect Arduino GND to the GND pin of the relay…

Strange, some of the other reviews are misleading.

Works well despite quality control issues. But you bought it because it's cheap, so we can live with QC, right? It's a little strange that the relay gets active when the input on the pin goes low, but since relays can be normally open or normally closed (depending on which screw terminal you use), the relay can conduct current when your input is high . Only the LED will light up when your input is low. which is strange. BUT this is useful as you can then put your relay in open circuit (no…

Great product - here are some missing (measured) specs

I was having trouble getting the exact (correct) specs from SainSmart so I hooked it up and took measurements. So here are some of the specs. that we can all use:Overview:1. For 12 VDC input current requirement > 500 mA.2. The drive to each control input contact must "pass" 3mA when it is low (low = relay ON). A great product by the way - great value for money! Note that the price has increased (was $23.69). less "great" but still "good" result. ***** Current input (12 VDC input) *****…
