Easy to use for fish and aquatic animals

Much easier to use than Red Sea potassium tests. Farley seems accurate, but maybe -5/+5% either way, so dose carefully.

Pros
  • Made in the Netherlands
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best seawater potassium test kit for amateurs.

If you want to test potassium, do it this way. Very fast test, easy to read endpoint, very accurate compared to ICPOES lab tests. Other hobby potassium tests, like those from the Red Sea, are inaccurate.

Pros
  • Measures potassium levels between 250 and 470 ppm
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

They're selling old stock that's going to expire in a few months.

Works. My potassium was tested at 430ppm and I believe it is accurate as I dose Aquaforest. 1 star because the test kits they sell are old. My kit expires on 10/2018 so I have to buy a new one in 5 months no matter how much I use. The picture above clearly shows that the expiration date is 7/2020 so they were caught red-handed that this is not a short lived kit and they are overselling old items.

It Works!: Aquarium Water Treatment

I recommended this to a friend who is on a low potassium (K) diet. I figured if it worked for aquarium water it would work for boiled potato water which is high in potassium. After a single boil in a full pot of water, the K content in the boiled water was high. But after boiling it three times, the K content in the boiled water was significantly lower. (Doctors recommend decoctions to reduce potassium.) This test helps her determine if decoctions or other methods of soaking in water when…
