useless for the price. No protection, maybe from sand or stones. But you don't hit objects, stones, trees. You will be hurt.

I love these things. They are neither bulky nor uncomfortable. I usually forget I'm wearing them until I need them - like today when a shoe root tore my front tire and threw me to the ground - with no scratches or injuries to my hand.
